Merry Christmas!

Hear the Good News: God is with us!

God has entered into our world, and has promised never to abandon us.  God has been born among us, has entered into the world God created, as become a member of the human family.

It is a mystery.  It is hard to imagine and impossible to comprehend.

And, yet, it is true.  God is with us.

And, so, however you celebrate today, I encourage you to take a moment – at least once – and to remind yourself that God is with you.

God is with us.  God is with us in the mess of wrapping paper and too much food and family traditions.  God is also with us if we are spending this day alone, or working, or grieving the loss of a loved one, or struggling with the holiday season.

God is with us in laughter and tears.  God is with us in sadness and in joy.  God is with us in all things.

God is with us.  God knows what it is like to be a human being because God has chosen to become a human being, has been born into this world to experience it with us – to revel in its beauty, to walk through its tragedy, and to bring us into relationship with God.

God is with us.  Jesus is born to save us.

Jesus Christ is Emmanuel, God with us.

The Light has entered into the darkness, and the darkness could not overwhelm it.

God is with us. Thanks be to God.
