Day 6 – A New Tradition

Written by Katie Luetkenhaus

Ever since I was a little girl my favorite holiday was Christmas. I always loved waking up on Christmas morning to find gifts and have an excuse to eat cookies at 9 in the morning. As I got older I’ve realized that Christmas was about more then just a new iPhone or really good sugar cookies, but about the birth of a really important person, Jesus.

One Christmas memory that I always will cherish happened few years ago when we were at my grandmother’s house and we were starting a new tradition to sing before we open presents. We started singing and we sung songs like Away in The Manger, Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer, and Hark The Harald Angels Sing. Then the last song we sang silent night. We started singing and half way through the song it started snowing. The forecast did not even predict snow that day, so we new it was a sign from God.

As the Holiday season begins cherish the little moments with your family and keep your eyes and your heart open for signs from God.

I wish you a wonderful Christmas!!
