Rev. Brian Johnson
Scripture: Acts 4:32-35; 1 John 1:1-2:2; John 20:19-31
The letters of John (1 John, 2 John, 3 John) were written to Christians in the early years after the death of Jesus. These letters deal with themes of light and darkness – and what it means to live in the light rather than in the dark. Today, in chapter 1, those themes are established. We read that “God is light, and in him there is no darkness at all” and we, as the people of God, are invited/called to “walk in the light.” Today we will talk about what it means for God to be light, what it means that God shines even when the world is dark, and what it means for us, the people of God, to walk in God’s light.
