Connect Groups

Being a Christian is something we do more than just once a week on Sunday morning.  Living the life of faith and sharing love with a world in need is something that we have to work at every day.  And, the journey towards God often requires support and encouragement from friends who are on that same journey.  Small groups, called Connect Groups at Haymarket Church, are gatherings that meet outside of Sunday morning worship in order to encourage each other, grow in faith, and help us find our place in God’s stories.  These are opportunities to build relationships with each other and continue to grow into the people who God wants us to be so that our faith can connect with our everyday lives and we can live for God each day.  Here are some of the adult connect groups that we offer at Haymarket Church.  For connect group options for teenagers, please check out our youth page

Women’s Group

A group of women that meets twice a month (usually on Monday nights).  One meeting per month is focused on discussing a book, while the other monthly meeting is going out to eat at a local restaurant.  Group study generally centers on a book related to Christian living.  This group welcomes new people pretty regularly, so there is always an opportunity for you to join.  If you’d like more information or would like to join us, please contact Brigette Ring at bmalace@yahoo.com.

Moms’ Group

A group of moms sharing the journey of life together.  We meet twice a month on Tuesday mornings at a home for study and community.  We also have a “Moms’ Night Out” adventure once a month.  For more information please contact Karen Thom at karen@virtualthom.com.

Wednesday Morning Men’s Group

These men meet each Wednesday morning at a local Chick Fil A for coffee, conversation, and the chance to pray for each other.  This group is usually finished by 7:00 AM, so there is (hopefully) plenty of time to meet with us on your way in to work.  For more information or if you’d like to join us, contact Pastor Brian at Brian.Johnson@HaymarketChurch.org.

Pub Theology

Some of the most important conversations in life happen around tables over shared meals. Pub Theology is a chance to gather together, share good food and drink, and have important conversations about faith and life. We gather monthly at a local restaurant (currently Grafton Street Restaurant and Pub in Gainesville). Each month we address a different issue or question and reflect on how it impacts our lives. All perspectives are welcome. Because each month is a fresh start with a different topic, this event is a great opportunity to begin to build connections with others and share in important conversations together. For more information or for the date/topic for our next Pub Theology event, please check out the What’s Happening page or contact us at info@HaymarketChurch.org.

Evening BS

Want to attend a small group but it is evening and you are tired after working all day or trying to get the kids in bed and can’t go out. No worries, join Evening Bible Study! A small group has been meeting since October 2015 on Tuesdays at 8:30PM. All you need are your slippers, a computer, an Internet connection, a bible and study book. If you would like more information about our next study please contact Karen Weaver at krweaver@comcast.net.

Route 15 Small Group

The Route 15 Group meets bi-monthly (on the first and third Wednesday of each month) from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM at a home in Dominion Valley. We are a group of both couples and singles who have grown children. Regardless of age, we welcome anyone who would like to join us.
We begin short-term studies frequently, so there are regular chances to jump in and start fresh. Previous studies have included a short lesson with scripture reading and plenty of discussion led by Al Kales. Contact Sue Kales at askales@comcast.net for more information or if you would like to join us.
