Bible Chapter Reading: Luke 9

Excerpt: “Do not be afraid.”

Reflection: Peace comes through trust. Jesus teaches that following Him brings purpose, not fear.

Journal Prompt: Jesus told his disciples as He sent them to serve to, “Take nothingfor the journey—no walking stick, no bag, no bread, no money, not even an extra shirt. Whatever house you enter, remain there until you leave that place. Wherever they don’t welcome you, as you leave that city, shake the dust off your feet as a witness against them.” They departed and went through the villages proclaiming the good news and healing people everywhere. (Luke 9:3-6) What might it be like to journey with Jesus, taking nothing that will weigh you down but fully trusting in God to provide? Write about the  metaphorical or literal things that you carry…what would it be like to put them down and trust God?

Spiritual Practice: Fasting from Excess: Choose one area—sweets, unnecessary spending, social media scrolling—and reduce or pause it to create space for God.
