We’ve talked some recently about how we were planning to bless the staff at Prince William Medical Center.  Using some of the money that y’all have donated to bless our community, we were able to cater a lunch for the folks in the hospital departments that have borne the brunt of our area’s response to the recent surge in Covid-19 cases.  We’ve been working on this for a while (getting it scheduled, etc.), and on Monday, October 18, we delivered 128 lunches and 13 gallons of sweet tea to these folks – our way of saying “thank you, we appreciate you, you are loved.”  Here’s a thank you note that we got from the Hospital’s Director of Volunteer Services:

On behalf of UVA Prince William Medical Center, I want to express our sincere gratitude to you and your congregation for the delivery of 128 Chick-fil-A sandwiches on October 18, 2021 to our healthcare providers at the forefront of this exhausting pandemic. I could feel their spirits lift as we rounded with your generous donation of food.  Attached are some pictures of one of our team members receiving your donation.

Food is what brings people of all faiths, cultures and beliefs together. Your generous donation lifted the spirits of our team members and brought smiles to their faces. Your donation allowed us to provide lunch to our weary front-line nurses, doctors and respiratory therapists.  It means so much to our team knowing that you care about them.

Please share with your congregation at Haymarket Church how grateful the nurses, doctors, technicians, radiology staff, and emergency room staff were and how much they enjoyed lunch.  You have truly made a difference, not only by donating meals, but by becoming a strong community partner fighting along with us during this COVID-19 crisis.  We are truly stronger together.

That is who we are called to be and what we are called to do as the people of Jesus.  Together, we get to put love into action, to live the love of God.
