Scripture: Exodus 24:12-18; Psalm 2; Matthew 17:1-9
In today’s Old Testament story, Moses encounters God on the mountain, and it changes his life – and the whole world (this is part of God giving the commandments to Israel). In our New Testament story, the disciples encounter God in Jesus (and also Moses and Elijah) and it changes their lives (and is part of God equipping them to change the world). Today we will talk about “mountain top experiences” – moments when we are surrounded by God’s presence and feel especially close to God – and how those moments are meant to equip us to share God’s love with others.
Think of a time when you’ve had a “mountaintop experience.” What was that like? How did it impact your life?
What would it look like for you to share God’s love with someone else this week? How could you help pass on the impact that God is made in your life?
