Scripture: 2 Corinthians 9:1-15; Matthew 6:19-21

Too often, churches talk about money (and financial giving) in a way that makes people feel guilty.  Generosity is an essential spiritual practice, but it’s not something we have to do in order to be holy or make God love us.  Instead, it’s something that we get to do in order to experience the joy of life with God (and to participate in what God is doing in our church/community/world).  Love for God has a way of overflowing into generosity, and generosity in our finances has a tendency to overflow into generous living in other aspects of our lives.
