Virtual Vacation Bible School (VBS)

** All At-Home Kits have been reserved. If you would like to be added to our waiting list if someone does not pick up their kit email karen.thom@haymarketchurch.org.**

We know your kids (and you) have had disappointment after disappointment with events being cancelled. So, since we can’t gather in-person for Vacation Bible School (VBS) this, we have decided to offer a new at-home virtual experience instead. We will hold Virtual VBS on July 20-24.

We know you are overwhelmed and busy with the kids at home, so we want to make this as easy as possible, while still providing great activities that your kids will love.

How does a virtual VBS work?

  • Pick-up your At-Home Kit from (NEW LOCATION) Haymarket Elementary School parking lot at 15500 Learning Ln, Haymarket VA on July 14 or 15 (stay tuned for details on this). At-Home Kits will include a craft, science experiment, and recreation activity to go with each day’s lesson.

At-Home Kit Pick-Up Choices:
• 7/14 – Tuesday 9:30-11 am
• 7/14 – Tuesday 5:30-7 pm
• 7/15 – Wednesday 1:30-3 pm

  • Each day during the week of July 20-24 we will release video content (about 30-40 minutes) at 10 AM on our new private “Haymarket Kids” FB group.
  • We will also have an interactive Zoom meeting each afternoon. Due to high demand each kid will be assigned 3 days a week to participate.

Alternative Option: One Day Per Week: Some families have expressed an interest in spreading out their VBS experience to give them activities to do each week instead. The videos will be released the week of July 20 but they will remain up for the rest of the summer. You are welcome to follow along with us on our one-week schedule, or you can space the days out and do the activities once a week for 5 weeks (or however works best in your family’s schedule).

We are REALLY going to miss seeing all of the children singing, laughing, learning, and growing together in-person this summer. But, we hope we can still offer your children the very best in faith-formation and fun with this at-home virtual program.

It’s a hard time to be a kid (and a parent) and we want to support you.  Please feel free to reach out if you need anything!

If you would like to help us with the cost of VBS this year we encourage you to make an online donation. That helps us open the experience up to more children in the community. Each At-Home Kit costs us about $12. Click to make an online donation.
