Students! What crazy times we live in all of a sudden. Thinks look different, but things are still happening.
Worship still happens every Sunday at 10 AM. You can find it in one of 3 places:
- On our Livestream page: https://haymarketchurch.org/livestream-worship
- On Facebook (that’s a thing old people use! HA!) https://www.facebook.com/haymarketchurch/
- And NEW!! We are on YouTube!: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMHklGH43kz4T0lFlGuouiA/videos?view=2&flow=grid
So, no excuses! Be sure to worship on Sundays at 10:00 AM from wherever you are.
Youth group is still happening online every week. We will meet from 6-7:15 PM or so every Sunday. We will play, we will pray, we will check-in, and we will have a few minutes in small groups.
Our confirmation class will continue to meet on Sundays from 4:30-5:30 PM. Confirmation students should have the link in their (or their parents’) email.
SENIOR HIGH HANGOUT
All 9th-12th grade students should plan to ‘hang out’ online with us on Tuesdays at 7:30PM. It’s a middle-school-free space just for you. Come spend an hour or so with your people each Tuesday. (https://zoom.us/j/245999152)
CARE FOR OTHERS
Hey–we know that you have LOTS of extra time these days without sports or music or theater or regular school. So here’s what we want you to do. Can you write a note to someone at Birmingham Green?
We talked about this a bit at our first online youth group. Maddy and Ryan’s mom works at this facility. It is an older adult facility and assisted living center. (A nice place where somebody’s grandparents reside–well a lot of somebody’s grandparents!) They have been on ‘lock-down’ for weeks in order to keep the residents safe. What that means is that visitors are VERY limited to medical professionals. (This is happening at places that care for older adults all over the country and world).
Here’s what we’d LOVE for you to do: Write a note (or 2 or 6) and send it via the snail mail to Ms. Maynard so that she can give it to someone who is lonely and brighten their day. Here’s the address:
c/o Tracy Maynard
8605 Centreville Road
Manassas, VA 20110
Here’s some sample text you can use:
Hi! I’m [your name] and I’m a student at [your school]. I go to Haymarket Church and we want to share some joy during these weird and difficult times. So here is a note to say hello and wish you well. I hope today is a great one for you. [Add more words here!] Sincerely, [Your Name]
See, that’s not so hard. We’d love for you to send some love over to Birmingham Green this week!
LET US KNOW WHAT YOU NEED
Hey– this mess is all super stressful and frustrating and hard. Do you need anything? Your leaders are here to help as best we can. Reach out and let us know what we can do to help. Drop a text to Kim or an Instagram DM any time.
We continue to pray for you.
You are loved.
We will get through this!
