The critical question this week is: Who/what do you really trust? In what/whom do you put your faith? Only God is worthy of our absolute devotion – and only God will never let us down. Sometimes we won’t get what we want in this world (some of us are going to be disappointed on Tuesday night, or whenever we find out the election results, no matter what happens). What happens when politicians, or politics, or even our nation fails us? Are we still able to move forward? (And are we all ready to come together for worship with people who voted differently from us next Sunday?) How can we trust in God no matter what happens in the world around us?
