Scripture: Colossians 1:10-20; Luke 23:33-43

Jesus is described as the “image of the invisible God” in the passage from Colossians.  These Scriptures point to the highest of highs—the passage from Colossians describes how Jesus reveals the fullness of divine and human potential—and the lowest of lows—in the passage from Luke, Jesus dies on the cross.  Together, these extremes help us to understand who our God is – a suffering savior, a king who reigns from a cross.

This Week: What does it mean to you that the king of the universe was willing to die on a cross to save you?

What does it mean that Jesus is “the image of the invisible God”? What does the life of Jesus teach us about who God is?
