We are excited to head to Camp Highroad (21164 STEPTOE HILL ROAD, MIDDLEBURG, VA, 20117) Friday-Sunday, February 21-23.
DEPARTURE/ARRIVAL DETAILS
- We will leave from the Ministry Center (15000 Washington Street). Please have your students at the Ministry Center by 5:00 PM. We want to be on the road by 5:15.
- We will stop for a quick drive-through dinner at a fast food restaurant, so please make sure your student has dinner money OR has a packed dinner if they’d prefer not to buy fast food. (Breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday are taken care of as part of your registration.)
- On Sunday morning, Students will be transported to Haymarket Elementary School for worship. They can be picked up after worship (~11:15 AM) on Sunday, February 23.
- Please note- if your student needs to arrive late/leave early please let Kim know ASAP for planning. You will be responsible for transportation outside of what is listed above.
PACKING LIST
- Sleeping bag or sheets/blankets (students will sleep in single bed size bunk beds in the cabin – boy/girl rooms )
- Clothing
- Toiletries
- Coat/Sweatshirt
- proper shoes (for walking, playing, hiking) please don’t just send flip-flops

- shower shoes/towel (optional if evening/morning shower is desired)

- Snack to share (NO NUTS)
Please note: cell phones are allowed on this trip but we’d prefer they not come. 🙂 If they become a problem we will ask that they be put away. Also there’s very little cell phone signal up at camp.
MEALS
- As noted above, Friday dinner will be drive-through (bring money to purchase) or packed dinner from home.
- We will provide a simple breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
- HighRoad will be providing lunch and dinner on Saturday (included in the event cost)
- Please be sure to bring snacks (nut-free) for our group to share during the adventure
AGENDA/SCHEDULE/PROGRAM
- This year’s retreat is focused on the book of Mark and digging into who Jesus was/is.
- The event will consist of multiple keynote sessions led by Pastor Brian, each followed by small group/activity time with our regular youth group leaders.
- We will have a little bit of free time
- Saturday night we will have a bonfire
- We will head off together on a hike (more like a walk in the woods! weather permitting)
- We will play lots of games
- Oh- and we WILL sleeeeeep! 😀
