Scripture: Romans 8:31-39; Luke 7:36-50; Matthew 7:1-5
There is nothing that can separate us from God’s love. This statement implies that there is a distinction between our character and our action. The problem is that our character informs our action, as does our action inform our character. So while we can hate the concept of sin, to hate the sin in someone is to actually hate that person. If we look at our brother, sister, friend and see a “sinner”, are we really seeing that person with the eyes of God? When Jesus talks about sin, he calls us to see our own sin first, and to see others primarily as beloved children of God.
