Scripture: Matthew 16:21-28; James 4:1-17
Many philosophies and religions have noticed the power of desire to shape our lives. When we want something badly enough, we will remake our lives in order to get it. James reminds us that when we crave the wrong things, we are much less likely to live the way we want to live. Part of what it means to be a Christian is learning to desire God above all other things – and learning to shape our lives accordingly.
