Scripture: Galatians 1:6-24; Psalm 8
The book of Galatians is a letter written by the Apostle Paul to a church full of over-achievers who are trying to out-do each other in holiness – they’re trying to prove how holy they are and establish themselves as spiritual superheroes. Paul started this church, but now the people there think that they have found a deeper spiritual truth – something more important than the gospel of Jesus that Paul preached when he was with them. But, Paul says, no – there is no other Gospel, and there is no message that’s more important or more spiritually significant than the message about Jesus Christ. And so, in this letter, Paul reminds the people of why Jesus really matters.
