Scripture: Psalm 8; Romans 5:1-5
Our Scripture lesson from Romans today says that “we also boast in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.” This is a strange claim – that suffering can lead to hope. Today we will explore what this could possibly mean.
This Week: Have you ever had something difficult in your life that led to something good/beautiful? What was it? How did it happen?
Take some time to reflect on how God has worked in your life. What things in your life can you look back on and say “God was working there” even though you couldn’t have said it at the time?
