Series: Fixer Upper – Stories of Restoration, Repurposing, and Redemption

Rev. Brian Johnson

Scripture: Jeremiah 18:1-6; Philemon 1:1-21

There’s a key idea, central to Christian theology and imagery, that is spoken to Jeremiah in this passage: the idea that all of Israel is like clay in the hands of God the potter. What does this mean for us? God is constantly shaping and forming us. We are never “done”. We are always becoming who we are going to be. Our job is not to do the shaping, it is to stay moldable. In this opening message, we’ll think about what it looks like to stay flexible to the will of God, by being saturated with God’s word, prayer, and community.

This Week: What feels hardened and stuck in your life? Do you feel like you need God to smash it and start something new?

What work do you need God to continue to do in your life/family/church/community?
