Mar. 24, 2019 – Suffering and Patience

Series: #nofilter Asking Life’s Essential (& Uncomfortable) Questions

Scripture: Isaiah 55:1-9; Luke 13:1-9

One of the most pressing questions we ask is why bad things happen to good people. And, for those of us who believe in a good God, the question takes on extra urgency – how can God be good if God allows so many bad things to happen? This week, Jesus is faced with that question, and his response has a lot to teach us about how we can respond faithfully to the suffering we see (and experience) in this world.

This Week: Is there suffering in this world that breaks your heart? Or that makes you angry? Take the time to name those things and then pray for those who are impacted by it this week.

Do you think it’s possible to be patient in the face of suffering? Is patience a betrayal of those who are in need?
