Scripture: Isaiah 7:10-16; Matthew 1:18-25
Joseph is a quiet character in the Bible – in fact, he doesn’t say a word. And yet, his actions are essential to the story of the birth of Jesus. What would have happened if, when the angel spoke to Joseph, Joseph had refused to believe? What if he’d turned to anger – which would have been reasonable considering the fact that his fiancée was pregnant and he wasn’t the father – instead of trusting God and taking this leap of faith?
This Week: Read the story of Joseph in Matthew 1:18-25 again. What does it have to teach you? How could you emulate Joseph?
Joseph doesn’t say a word in the Bible and yet his actions have changed the world. What other people do you know who make a difference in quiet ways? Do something to thank one of those people this week.
As we prepare for Christmas, make sure to invite someone to worship with you at Haymarket Church on Christmas Eve!
