Packing for the Trip

Packing List

CCC Has provided a PACKING LIST. Be sure to pay attention to their work site attire–long pants and closed-toed shoes. Students will want to have swim clothes if they plan to participate on our free afternoon. We are staying at a middle school and will have access to gym and fields for play time.

This year our accommodations are different. Cots are provided OR students/leaders may bring air mattresses. All bedding and linens need to be packed and brought on the trip.

Spending Money

Students will be responsible for 2 fast-food meals on the way to/from North Carolina. (Sunday lunch, Saturday lunch). Students should bring enough spending money to cover those meals. (Kim is happy to hold the ‘travel home’ money if that is helpful to your student for budgeting purposes.) Occasionally, work teams will stop for an ice cream or a treat on the way back from worksites, so having a few extra dollars for that is helpful but not required. There is also a camp store at our location.

Cell Phone Policy

Haymarket Church Student Cell Phone Policy for Mission Trips

We would prefer NO PHONES for the entire week. We DO NOT allow phones during our time at camp. (All adults will have phones and students are welcome to call home as needed.)

Students may bring phones and will be allowed to use them on Sunday & Saturday (travel days). Phones must be turned in on Sunday afternoon when we arrive at our lunch stop. Phones will be charged for students (if a charger has been provided) and returned to students on Saturday morning to take final photos and get contact information from new friends and to use during the travel home. Please note that these phones will be kept in a backpack, and secured in a warm van during the work day.

Our Annual Spagetogether will be on Sunday evening, July 28 at 6:00 PM at our Ministry Center. This is our celebration and Mission Trip recap. We will share photos and stories from the trip and allow the students to tell their families about all the cool stuff we experienced.

Parents and siblings and youth leaders are all invited–come and celebrate the awesome work these students did in North Carolina!

Please sign up to help with our simple spaghetti dinner!

About CCC

A CCC Home Repair trip gives youth and adults the spiritual renewal of a camp experience and the life-changing opportunities of a weeklong mission trip. While the work is challenging, CCC makes it easy for your group to worship, serve, and grow. We provide the location, training, tools, supplies, and connection to needy families.  You and your students give the hands, heart, and soul of Christlike service. During a week in the summer, your group will perform various home repairs for the unemployed, the disabled, the elderly, or single parents and have an amazing time sharing God’s love!  A typical week at CCC includes serving 2-3 different families through the following types of projects:

  • Building wheelchair ramps, porches, and steps
  • Yardwork, mowing, weed eating, and raking
  • Painting inside and outside of homes
  • House cleaning, window washing, and more

Building Hope. In addition to helping with physical needs, we strive to meet the spiritual, emotional, and social needs of the residents we meet. You are encouraged to pray with the families you serve, have lunch with them, and share the love of Christ. CCC is also about helping students. We want students to be empowered to do and lead, to experience acceptance, laughter, spiritual growth, community, and impactful worship. We are serious about service AND serious about having fun and growing spiritually during your week of camp with us!
